Thursday WC Update…

Thursday was a great day for work! Weather was awesome. Supplies were not a problem. Our students were able to get plenty of work done! And best of all, a few of our students shared with us that they had several opportunities to share the Gospel!

Worship was awesome tonight. Bro. Lawrence preached on hearing and accepting God’s call to the ministry. We had several students who indicated that God was speaking to their hearts about serving Him in some greater way. And that is what World Changers is about! Encouraging students to commit to serve God on a long-term basis and making disciples for life!

Wednesday WC Update…

Wednesday was a great day! We wrapped up our work at noon, enjoyed some burgers & hot dogs at a cookout by the city, then headed out for some relaxation. Our first stop was Cabela’s Outdoor Store. The guys (and even some of the girls) enjoyed this little pit stop! They had just about everything you could imagine. Second on the list was the Lincoln Park Zoo. Good zoo, but definitely not as good as Memphis. We then headed for the Navy Pier, where we enjoyed some good food, great weather, and an awesome fireworks show.

Leaving the Navy Pier was a little crazy, as none of our GPS units would work. So we had to resort to the “old fashioned” maps. Crazy how dependent you get on a GPS even when you’ve only used them for a short amount of time! Fortunately, we all made it home safely, though!

The guys’ room…

So…though it may come as no surprise…the guys’ room is getting pretty funky by now! There’s definitely a distinct smell coming from the room. Brad & I have TRIED to keep things neat and orderly, but I’m not so sure we’ve been too successful. For proof, check out the first 4 pics on our Wednesday picture page. Enjoy!

WC – Monday update…

Monday’s update…

We started our work today! Things didn’t go quite as planned today, as many of our sites spent the day waiting on supplies. However, our students still made good use of their time. Candace, Jessica Patrick, & Carie Anne all shared with us about opportunities they had to share Christ with others and several others talked about opportunities they had to minister to the neighbors and kids around. Oh, and also, parents you can relax because we made it through day one without any injuries (other than maybe a little scrape here or there). So all in all, things are good on the worksites and the students are looking forward to tomorrow!

Worship was amazing tonight! Our camp pastor (Bro. Lawrence – a local pastor in the East Chicato area) preached from Isaiah 6 on the topic of confession. God’s Spirit was definitely moving in the room!

WC Day 2 – Saturday – Arrival!

Well, we’ve made it! The drive today was good…no problems! The kids have gotten unpacked and settled in, and now things are rolling! We’ll be finding out who is on our crew in the morning, so needless to say, the excitement level is high. The kids are pumped about what is to come, and my prayer is that God takes that energy and guides them to do some amazing things this week.

Worship was great tonight! Despite the fact that we were all tired, God still used the moment to speak to our hearts. Can’t wait for tomorrow night’s worship!

Wc day 1 – travel day and six flags

The trip has begun! I’m writing this from my phone at six flags so forgive me for any typos! Travel went down without a hitch today, which is always an answer to prayer. Our students have had a great day of fun and fellowship at the park today, but tomorrow the real reason for our travels begins. Even though this is my 28th world changers project to be involved with, there’s still plenty of excitement and anticipation in my heart. My prayer is that our students get fired up for serving Jesus this week, and that He does an azing work in their hearts and lives. So needless to say, pray for us!

Update….I’ve posted a few pictures. We didn’t get but a few. Not many carried their cameras into the park. Hopefully we’ll have more for tomorrow!
